Installing cabinets whether in a kitchen, laundry or utility cabinets in a garage, they all have the same basic set of installation requirements. Some simple tools are required and are in most handymans tool pails. Pencils, good carpenters four foot level, tape measure, screw gun, several Quick type C clamps and a chalk line is a great start. If you have the use of a tripod with a builders level (or can rent one for a day) this will speed the work along greatly. Starting at either end of the cabinet set, make a pencil mark four feet above the floor. Now using the four foot level, transfer that mark along the wall to the other end of the cabinet run and make another pencil mark. Measure down to the floor to see if it is four feet above the floor. If it is exactly four feet, then your floor is level. If it is more than four feet then you know the floor slopes down towards that end. If you start the cabinets at that low end you will not be able to keep the cabinets level before you run "into " the floor. If you start at the four foot end that you started with, you will be able to shim the cabinets up so they all remain the same level height above the floor.
Purchasing Cabinets There are different tiers on purchasing cabinets too. You save money by assembling pre-cut parts from the manufacturer. Since cabinets will be the focal point of your kitchen, you may prefer to have assembled cabinets that are installed by the dealer. The following descriptions will help you make this decision. RTA or Ready-to-Assemble is provided by the cabinet manufacturer. If the manufacturer doesnt incur the labor expense to assemble the cabinet, he will pass this savings on to you. If you are going to use RTA cabinets to cut down on the expenses, you need to find your cabinets at the beginning of your project. You need time to assemble them and ready to install after installing the flooring, painting, papering are complete.
Why do you need a bathroom linen cabinet? It is not possible for all of us to construct huge bathrooms in our houses. It is in fact the smallest room of the house. Most of the space is consumed by a wash basin, bath tub, toilet commode, pipes and taps. In such situations bathroom linen cabinets help in holding bulky stuff such as bath towels, linens and wash clothes. Many people also use these cabinets to keep hair dryers, bathroom reading books, newspapers, lotions and creams. They are not just a decorative piece of every bathroom but also help in keeping the things set and managed well.
Secondly selection of the cabinets depends upon what you wish to store. If you do not intend to store too much of linen, opt for the towel racks style which can be rotated. Whatever the style be the materials used to make these cabinets are durable and can withstand the rough conditions of any bathroom. You get to choose from a wide option of metal, steel, glass and wood for a touch of modernism, but just be assured that they are rust free. The doors of the cabinet are one of the most important aspects to consider when buying a cabinet for your bathroom. Free standing ones have an option of opaque wood and glass doors. While the glass doors suit accessories like perfumes, lotions, creams and other antique items used in the bath, things like bath towels, linens, kids toys and wash clothes look better stored in cabinets with wooden doors.
